MyFaves+ — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how [SideQuest Ventures LLC/“MyFaves+”] (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the MyFaves+ mobile and web application (the “App”). By using the App, you agree to this Policy.
MyFaves+ lets you privately log your favorite dishes, drinks, and restaurants — with ratings, notes, and photos — and find restaurants near you.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your email address and password (passwords are stored only as salted hashes by our authentication provider — we never see or store your plaintext password), and, optionally, a display name and profile photo.
- Your content: the reviews and information you create — dish and drink names, categories, star ratings, prices, seasonal availability, customizations, and comments; restaurant ratings, price ratings, and comments; restaurant names and addresses you add; and photos you choose to upload.
Information collected automatically or with your permission
- Precise location: if you use the “Nearby” feature, we request your device’s location and send your coordinates (and any search text) to our restaurant-search provider to return nearby results. We request location only when you use this feature and do not track your location in the background or keep a location history.
- Camera and photo library: if you add a photo, we access your camera or photo library only to let you select the specific photo you choose to attach.
- Diagnostics (if enabled): we may collect limited crash and error diagnostics (such as error messages, device model, and operating-system version) to keep the App reliable. We do not attach your email or precise location to these reports.
We do not collect data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and secure your account and sign you in;
- Store and display your reviews, photos, and profile;
- Provide the nearby-restaurant search;
- Maintain, debug, and improve the App’s reliability; and
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How We Share Your Information
Your reviews and photos are private to your account and are not shared with other users. We share information only with service providers that operate the App on our behalf (“sub-processors”):

Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified of any such change).
4. Data Storage, Security, and Retention
- Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with our providers, which encrypt data at rest.
- Each user’s data is isolated by database access controls (row-level security) so you can only access your own data.
- On mobile devices, your login session is stored in the device’s secure keychain/keystore.
- We retain your information until you delete it or delete your account (see Section 6). Backups may persist for a limited period afterward.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
5. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Edit your reviews, profile, and photos at any time in the App.
- Delete your account and all associated data (see Section 6).
- Contact us at inquiries@side-quest-ventures.com to exercise any right.
California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell or “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. EEA/UK (GDPR): our legal bases are performing our contract with you (providing the App), your consent (e.g., location and camera access), and our legitimate interests (security and reliability). You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
6. Deleting Your Account
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data — reviews, photos, and profile — at any time:
- In the App: Profile → Delete account.
Deletion is immediate and irreversible.
By request: if you can’t access the app, email inquiries@side-quest-ventures.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We’ll delete your account and all associated data within 30 days (usually much sooner) and confirm by email.
What gets deleted: your account, all dish and restaurant reviews, uploaded photos, and profile information. This cannot be undone.
7. Children’s Privacy
MyFaves+ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at inquiries@side-quest-ventures.com and we will delete it.
8. International Data Transfers
We and our providers may process and store your information in the United States and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new “Last updated” date and, for material changes, provide additional notice within the App.
